These days I am closer to the place--
the place
I've wanted to remember
for years. These days
I can sometimes smell
the salt of the sea
without trying.
I catch a glimpse of a small girl,
a blonde pixie cut;
I catch a glimpse of her white slip
and feel the cool and life-filled chill
of early morning biting
her legs.
I see a window overlooking the bustling
downtown street below.
In the quiet of morning
in this stillness of time
I am close
the place
I've wanted to remember
for years. These days
I can sometimes smell
the salt of the sea
without trying.
I catch a glimpse of a small girl,
a blonde pixie cut;
I catch a glimpse of her white slip
and feel the cool and life-filled chill
of early morning biting
her legs.
I see a window overlooking the bustling
downtown street below.
In the quiet of morning
in this stillness of time
I am close

Stay
Surrounding chaos
Unseen revers'd battlefield.
Choose to not come home.

Always
Alone upon the hill,
you stand.
Winters hand,
grips your limbs,
cold wind ripping,
at your core.
Just a shadow of yourself,
stands before the world.
But fear not,
soon winters hold,
will be burnt sunder.
Once more the light,
will fill your core.
Once more you shall bloom,
once more the beauty,
in you shall shine.
and know this,
alone you shall never stand,
for no matter were,
no matter what.
Be it light,
be it dark.
You shall always,
have a freind,
in me

The Only One
Ive come to realize that I'm the only one
The only one in generations
but not for generations to come
A family curse that binds us,
was broken from the start
A family never realized
birthed a child with too much heart
A child who wanted more love
than you ever had to offer
who required endless selflessness
You only left to suffer
From a broken heart
to loving arms
from brokenness
to abounding love
You never gave me what I needed
You never really could
You made me feel like the only one
Who no one understood

Hi guys. Another one I want to share. I haven't been doing much with poetry lately, but it has a way of doggedly worming it's way back into my life.

Such strong nostalgia. I love the part about smelling the sea salt, it's so evocative.
